A Fond Farewell

This post is bittersweet: I’m sad to say that as of today, I’m changing gears and no longer working with Jumpstart Lab.

It’s not really possible for me to articulate how much I appreciate JSL and Jeff. I’ve been working here for a little over two years. I was the first instructor Jeff hired. My work with Jumpstart has taken me all over the world, introduced me to hundreds of new friends, and given me the opportunity to do things I really enjoy: teach, speak, and work on open source software.

But sometimes good things must come to a close. I’m ready to focus my energy on fewer projects, spend less time traveling, and finish the three books I have in process. I’ve always started my talks off with “Hi, I’m Steve. I work at Jumpstart Lab. We teach the best Ruby and Rails training in the world, so if you need to level up your team, call us.” That’s still true, I just won’t be a part of the day-to-day anymore.

I’m not pulling a _why or anything. You can still get a hold of me on Twitter or by email. I’m not entirely sure what my future holds yet, but that’s part of the fun. If you’d like to be a part of it, please get in touch.
